A coach is someone who preps an athlete to succeed in impossible situations.

It comes with the job description.

You will not always like what we ask you to do.  But that is why we are here 🙂

Everyday, I do my best to prepare my athletes for just about any situation.  If your a swimmers, this can include anything from a suit failing, a cap ripping or a pair of goggles failing. This is why I set aside a few minutes, of every practice, specifically meant for challenging the athlete's training environment.

More often then not, I prescribe a simple - yet challenging - set of 50s......

...............Swimming Without Goggles.*

A race is made up of more then the plastic covering your eyes and challenging yourself in an environment sans perfect eyesight can payoff in a big way.

To put it simply:

Practice utilizing your other senses (aside from sight) and they will be ready when you need when your goggles fill with water.

It's as easy as 10 x 50 Build on 1:00 WITHOUT GOGGLES.*

I promise, this is harder then it looks, but it is well worth it. 🙂  Keep the time without goggles short.  The idea is not to stress your eyes - but to prepare the swimmer to succeed without them.

Keep on Swimming,

Coach Meg
